Depop Fun!

So this is just a little quick post to update you guys on what I've been up to. I've recently downloaded Depop and I am basically loving life now. I've got so much clothes that it's unbearable - a chest of drawers and a double wardrobe full. I usually just give my unwanted clothes to charity shops or throw them out but now that I've discovered Depop I can sell my unwanted clothing and make hopefully some money! However, it seems I've been doing more buying than selling but hey ho! So if you haven't already got Depop I recommend you download this app you don't have to sell but you can buy cheap clothes, shoes, bags and cute jewellery you wouldn't find anywhere else!

Ladies at Lunch - A day out in Edinburgh

So today myself, my mother and my best friend Robyn went to Edinburgh for lunch and shopping. We had lunch at Indigo Yard which is a restaurant and bar located in the heart of the west end of Edinburgh. Indigo Yard is without a doubt one of the best restaurants to eat at in Edinburgh and they serve the most amazing cocktails - Louisiana Jam is by far the best! So if you are ever up the West End and you enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor and great food I definitely recommend Indigo Yard!

After lunch we walked along Princes Street which was not great for my bank balance BUT it was my day off so I pretty much earned it. Today I bought new make-up brushes and a honey face mask for those nights where all I wanna do is curl up with my duvet, eating Ben & Jerry's and watching Bridget Jones with my face mask on to get rid of my horrible spots! I also invested in a couple of new T's - I am totally obsessing over t-shirts at the moment with high waisted skinnies - it is pretty much all I wear. The black and white jersey Raglan top is from Topshop - I've wanted one for a while and think by teaming that with a pair of black or white skinnies would be very cute. The Magnificent Game T is from Zara, I just really liked the slogan and colours and Zara T-shirts are always the best quality and look so fresh.
My favourite purchase of today is my sandals from Warehouse! Initially they were £20 but they have a score at the front so I asked the kind lady if I could have money off and she gave me them for £10! Absolute bargain for real leather shoes and they are so comfortable - hopefully we will get the weather so I can wear them soon!

Photo shoot for Brig Fashion

So yesterday I had a lovely day catching up with one of my best friends and fashion writers Lauren Bircher. We drove to Stirling - I was very surprised that we returned home in one piece due to my driving - and carried out an interview for Brig Fashion and did a photo shoot in the local area. We also had an amazing lunch at Pizza Express - soup and dough balls - delicious and I recommend it very highly for a place to lunch as it is extremely cheap. So we carried out our interview first of all, which I can't really go into much detail about as it is for the next issue of Brig Fashion, therefore top secret. I did have so much fun shooting Lauren in different pretty spots in Stiring though, however she was not impressed, but she is my model so I kept telling her!

Style Icon: Fearne Cotton

Fearne Cotton has to be one of my favourite British style icons. She is literally one of the coolest celebrities to walk this earth. She always gets her style just right yet makes it look so effortless - which is a pain in the arse! Even after just giving birth to her beautiful little baby Rex she still looks amazing.

Fearne pulls of the rock chick with a sense of femininity that I haven't witnessed any other celebrity do. Even when she is dressed down in a pair of skinny jeans, chunky boots and an over sized cardigan she never looks frumpy - it is literally unfair how stylish this lady is!

Ibiza Antics

So today I arrived home from Ibiza after one of the most amazing holiday ever. Ibiza was like nothing I expected, good and bad. From what people told me Ibiza was a place full of madness, drugs and partying and although I witnessed a lot of this havoc it was the people I met that made it for me.

On our first day arriving at Ibiza Rocks hotel we were confronted by a lovely lad by the name of Georgie who gave us a tour of the island and helped us settle right in. We also met the most amazing Scottish boys I have ever encountered.
The first night at Ibiza Rocks, Madness were playing and although I don't know a lot of Madness songs it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to in my life, those guys know how to get a crowd going! We also saw Fat Boy Slim at Cafe Mambo and watched the sunset which was so beautiful!

Probably one of the best nights of the week was being backstage and VIP at David Guetta after using the power of flirt on some wealthy boys, what a view!

If you ever get the chance to go to Ibiza you most certainly need to go to Zoo Project. Set in an abandoned zoo this club is unreal. You are painted as your favourite animal and dance, smoke shisha pipes and drink all night - not a better night out!

You will be helped, no matter who you are

Following the very sad and sudden death of Robin Williams and additional inspirational celebrities deaths, such as Peaches Geldof and Amy Winehouse, I have came to realise that money can never buy you happiness, love and security.

Pretty much all my life I have had the dream to one day become successful and rich and then I actually believed I would be truly happy. I think this is a common belief that most people adopt, that money will solve all of their problems, when in fact money itself creates bigger problems, drugs and alcohol being two main addictions that people with a lot of money and not a lot of happiness can become vulnerable to.

The fact is that money is the root of all evil. No matter how much money you have you can never be truly happy unless you accept who you are and be content with who you are. There are so many people I know who use money as a token of friendship, love and success, and these people I know to be unhappy with themselves. I don't know where I'm going with this post, I just had to get it off my chest. The death of an amazing actor, a beautiful young woman with a family and one of the most talented singers in the world has enlightened me to understand the concept of fame, money and success in a completely different manner.

Maybe I understand these factors in life in a not so ignorant way to see that having all the money in the world can't make you happy, it can't buy you friendship and it can't buy you love. I believe society views celebrities in a very naive manner - myself included - to think that these people do not suffer in the same ways that we suffer because they have money. At the end of the day, we all suffer, no matter who we are and how much cash we own. I just hope from the horrible deaths of such inspirational people that some good can come from bad, that depression as an illness will become more widely acknowledged and those who suffer will gain the support and security they need and deserve, no matter who they are.

August Wish List

1. Long Sleeve Roll Neck Top
(Topshop £14.00)

Although this top is more of a winter essential I can't help but want one in my wardrobe right now. The black roll neck compliments any outfit and also keeps you warm in those windy autumn days. Definitely a must have for this coming autumn!

2. Pleated Midi Skirt
(Forever 21 £14.75)

The pleated midi skirt from Forever 21 caught my eye while I was lazily browsing the website. Although this skirt is quite plain it is very elegant and pretty. I could dress this skirt down for a day out at the shops with a pair of brogues and a leather jacket or dress it up for a night out in the town with chunky heels and a cami top.

3. Black Chunky Cleated Sole T Bar Shoes
(River Island £35)

I am a sucker for any black shoes and these chunky cleated sole t bar shoes are perfect to compliment any rock and roll outfit. With the cut out design and silver buckle these shoes create a bold statement with a pretty appearance.
4. Contrast Boysy Backpack
(Asos £35)

I'm dying to buy one of these bags for university this semester! So cute yet very classic with the fake leather distressed look. The bag also comes in green, but obviously I will opt for black.

Collection Artistique

I feel quite guilty for not posting in like a week so today I made a conscious effort to do so. I've been in staying in Edinburgh the majority of the week at a dear friends attending the Fringe festival. If you're from Scotland you should definitely make an effort to go to the festival and see the lovely Jeff Leach, a comedian from London, who much to my appreciate reminded me and resembles Russell Brand. So if you are a Brand fanatic like myself go see Jeff Leach, he performs everyday until the 22nd of August at The Counting House in Edinburgh, 5:15pm and it's free, so you have no excuse not to go!

Anyway, I went shopping to Glasgow Fort on Thursday and due to the limited amount of cash flowing in my bank account at this present moment in time I could only buy one item. A sweater from Zara. I've been stalking sweaters since River Island presented the Vogue sweaters in black, white and navy in their stores. Before hand, sweaters reminded me of school but I find something very classy about the bold colours and fashion related statements that have been appearing on this attire in many high-street stores, therefore I had to have one.

Although the sweater is quite large and baggy on me I love the frumpy yet bold look. Teaming the sweater with a pair of skinny black jeans, a pair of pool sliders and of course black shades the look is complete!

Mannequin Mischief

Work was very exciting and fun today I am pleased to say. Myself and the lovely Stephen completely merchandised the kids wall and kids mannequins. The little boys mannequin to the right of Steven was dressed in a purple classic Lacoste jumper over a white and purple checked shirt, which then contrasts  with the white skinny jeans, rolled up at the bottom to remind us that summer is still here. Stephen added a blue belt to complete the preppy boy London style. The girls mannequin to the left was dressed in a denim collard dress with three silver button fastenings at the front. A purple cardigan was added to compliment and match the boys outfit and a brown belt and Lacoste bag further enhanced the outfit.
