Autumn Blues

Evening! Today was one of the coldest, wettest, windiest days I have experience in a long long time! I think when you experience a really chilly day like today you start to think 'oh winter is here', its time to bring out the cosy gear - but I'll start wearing cosy stuff tomorrow.

So today my outfit was basically negative - all black and white I mean by that. I wore my favourite midi skirt, which I bought two years ago from Primark in the sale, which cost me £5! An absolute bargain. I always feel like the things that cost the least are my favourite items and I wear them the most (with the exception of my Mulberry bag of course) I teamed my skirt with a black ribbed high neck top then put on my favourite cosy black furry cardigan - from the kids section in New Look - that I bought last year. I wore my Topshop black mac - which I got in the July sale for £20 - again an absolute bargain! To top this look off I slipped on my favourite black Primark boots (£15) and my Mulberry and off to my magazine workshop I went!

I love to keep my outfits as simple as can be and I always opt for dark colours on winter days, I'm basically a walking theme of doom and gloom! I like to wear one statement piece of clothing and that way I haven't got too much going on. My advice is keep your outfit nice and simple and that way you can never go wrong, and you will always look classy!

5 things that run through my mind when I wake up!

Morning! Today's post derived from me sitting in my bed just thinking about things, when I had a moment of realisation, I shall blog my thoughts instead of just lying in bed thinking them. I mean that is what a blog is for right? Therefore, I made a list 5 Things that Cross My Mind when I wake up, I hope you enjoy.

❶ Where is my future heading? This is one of the scariest thoughts any one person can have. Where will I be in 10 ten years time? Who will be my friends? Where will I be working? I basically haunt myself with these questions then give my mind some reassurance by stating, "whats to be will be"

Do I have work? This is usually the first thing I think of when I wake up in the morning. If I have work I have to get up and join in with the rest of the world in  the tedious routine of getting ready for work then going to work. However, you can be pretty sure it will be a happy day if I don't have work resulting in a few minutes more in bed until my mum forces me up with her silent routine of making cornflakes.

Am I happy? I guess many people ask themselves this question, on a daily basis. This is a common thought that runs through my mind. I like to basically check in with myself to make sure that everything is A-okay. It is only you who has the power to make yourself happy, you are in control of your own happiness and if that means saying no to people so be it, JUST BE HAPPY.

CLOTHES! Now this is usually what the majority of my thoughts include. Buying new clothes, looking at new clothes and salivating over new clothes. There is nothing that makes a girl feel more beautiful that a brand new outfit!

When is Christmas? Yes, I am such a child. I do count down the days until I can eat my advent calendar on the 1st of December then I count down the days very carefully until Christmas. I adore everything about Christmas, the lights, the nights out at Edinburgh German Market, being all wrapped up in your favourite scarf, drinking hot chocolate, spending time with close friends and family and eating amazing food!

So there we have my most common five thoughts when I wake up!
What are your five thoughts? Comment below!
 Have a lovely day.

Cheshire Oaks - The Designer Outlet with a Difference

HEY! It has been far too long since I have written on my blog, but I have been super busy with uni, work and friends. So what have I been up to lately? WELL, my lovely boyfriend, D'Arcy took me to Chester for Halloween and when we were down there we went to Cheshire Oaks.

What is Cheshire Oaks? Cheshire Oaks is basically every girls dream come true. It is a massive shopping designer outlet full of amazing brands with even more amazing discount. Yes it is true I am not bullshitting you right now. Some of the brands you can find there include, Mulberry, CK, Burberry, Michael Kors, Barbour, Ted Baker, Fred Perry, Boss and many more.

The most exciting news is yet to come.. I bought my very own Mulberry bag and Mulberry purse when I was there! Genuinely the most excited I have ever been in my life. I have always dreamed of owning my own Mulberry bag and I saved up LOADS to have my very own. I also bought a lot of christmas presents for my friends and family too. Cheshire Oaks also offers amazing discounts and exclusive offers for Christmas presents! Mulberry offer 30% off luxury leather bags with the Mitzy Messenger Pebbled Oak bag from £465 down to £325. Ralph Lauren is also offering an extra £10 off everything in store and an extra 30% off with online discount. If you ever have the chance to go to Cheshire Oaks I cannot recommend it more highly you just have to go!

We also went into Chester and did some more shopping - even cake shopping! Which were delicious. Chester is a definite place to visit on your bucket list, it is a beautiful town full of character and beauty.
You will not be disappointed!

Depop Fun!

So this is just a little quick post to update you guys on what I've been up to. I've recently downloaded Depop and I am basically loving life now. I've got so much clothes that it's unbearable - a chest of drawers and a double wardrobe full. I usually just give my unwanted clothes to charity shops or throw them out but now that I've discovered Depop I can sell my unwanted clothing and make hopefully some money! However, it seems I've been doing more buying than selling but hey ho! So if you haven't already got Depop I recommend you download this app you don't have to sell but you can buy cheap clothes, shoes, bags and cute jewellery you wouldn't find anywhere else!

Ladies at Lunch - A day out in Edinburgh

So today myself, my mother and my best friend Robyn went to Edinburgh for lunch and shopping. We had lunch at Indigo Yard which is a restaurant and bar located in the heart of the west end of Edinburgh. Indigo Yard is without a doubt one of the best restaurants to eat at in Edinburgh and they serve the most amazing cocktails - Louisiana Jam is by far the best! So if you are ever up the West End and you enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor and great food I definitely recommend Indigo Yard!

After lunch we walked along Princes Street which was not great for my bank balance BUT it was my day off so I pretty much earned it. Today I bought new make-up brushes and a honey face mask for those nights where all I wanna do is curl up with my duvet, eating Ben & Jerry's and watching Bridget Jones with my face mask on to get rid of my horrible spots! I also invested in a couple of new T's - I am totally obsessing over t-shirts at the moment with high waisted skinnies - it is pretty much all I wear. The black and white jersey Raglan top is from Topshop - I've wanted one for a while and think by teaming that with a pair of black or white skinnies would be very cute. The Magnificent Game T is from Zara, I just really liked the slogan and colours and Zara T-shirts are always the best quality and look so fresh.
My favourite purchase of today is my sandals from Warehouse! Initially they were £20 but they have a score at the front so I asked the kind lady if I could have money off and she gave me them for £10! Absolute bargain for real leather shoes and they are so comfortable - hopefully we will get the weather so I can wear them soon!

Photo shoot for Brig Fashion

So yesterday I had a lovely day catching up with one of my best friends and fashion writers Lauren Bircher. We drove to Stirling - I was very surprised that we returned home in one piece due to my driving - and carried out an interview for Brig Fashion and did a photo shoot in the local area. We also had an amazing lunch at Pizza Express - soup and dough balls - delicious and I recommend it very highly for a place to lunch as it is extremely cheap. So we carried out our interview first of all, which I can't really go into much detail about as it is for the next issue of Brig Fashion, therefore top secret. I did have so much fun shooting Lauren in different pretty spots in Stiring though, however she was not impressed, but she is my model so I kept telling her!

Style Icon: Fearne Cotton

Fearne Cotton has to be one of my favourite British style icons. She is literally one of the coolest celebrities to walk this earth. She always gets her style just right yet makes it look so effortless - which is a pain in the arse! Even after just giving birth to her beautiful little baby Rex she still looks amazing.

Fearne pulls of the rock chick with a sense of femininity that I haven't witnessed any other celebrity do. Even when she is dressed down in a pair of skinny jeans, chunky boots and an over sized cardigan she never looks frumpy - it is literally unfair how stylish this lady is!
