Today I'm Wearing..

So today I am wearing my work clothes but I thought I could just sneak this in as todays blog post since I've been out all day and didn't have any time to write an article. So my outfit for today included a black leotard/swim suit - I don't know what you prefer to call it -under a long black skirt, with a slit at the side which tears up the black colour a little, from Miss Selfridge. My cardigan is Lacoste - to tie in with my uniform and my shoes are London Rebel from TK Maxx which I got for only £16.99! This outfit is so comfortable to wear especially for a long day at work!

Mums the word

So I wasn't feeling particularly photogenic today so I wasn't really up for doing a fashion post of what I was wearing, so my mum said she was up for it instead - she was bullied into it. Today we went shopping to Glasgow Fort and picked up some great purchases in the sales. Here is my gorgeous mum modelling her new buys.

The grey light weight knitted cardigan is from H&M and was a bargain at £5. Although the garment is a cardigan and it is meant to be summer, due to its light colour and material you could wear this item in summer as well as in winter. My mum just teamed the cardigan with a black vest top and black skinny jeans to draw attention to her new purchase but you could use this cardigan to compliment dresses and skirts too.

The shoes are from TK Maxx at a bargain of £20. The black brogue style is very in trend and is a great buy for the autumn and winter as you can dress up with these shoes or dress down and they help keep the cold weather away from your tootsies. The brass buckle at the side of the shoes gives a real vintage feel adding a touch of class to your feet!

Rainy Rainy Rattlesnakes

Although we are in July and extremely close to jumping into August, I looked out of my window today and the rain was falling from the heavens, which I actually enjoy. So the influence for my article today is very weather associated - its all about macs!

Topshop
The Makintosh or raincoat was created by the Scottish inventor Charles Makintosh and was made from rubberised fabric. Nowadays Macs are made from plastic such as Polyurethane, which still does the job for keeping the rain off. Now, when I think of Mac's I think of Paddington bear and his yellow raincoat, but these days Mac's are very in trend and many high street stores offer an array of Mac's in all colours, patterns and shapes!

Topshop offer numerous trendy mac's to protect your outfits from the rain in a trendy manner. My favourite has to be the Cream Lace Plastic Mac from Topshop at a healthy £52.00 without student discount. With patch pockets and golden trims you can look pretty and stay dry at the same time!

ASOS

ASOS present the Long Line Rain Mac with Spot for those ladies who don't want a wet bum. The mac has a drawstring hood and it is able to pack into a matching bag so you can keep your mac in your handbag for when the weather decides to take a turn for the worst. In a light blue with darker spots this long line mac still looks fashionable, team it with an oversized bag and shades and you are still able to hit the town looking on trend.

boohoo.com

boohoo highlight the Leona Leopard Hooded Plastic Mac as the perfect purchase for you festival lovers. This is the perfect layer for over a crop top and shorts and wells or a cute summer dress when watching your favourite band at a festival - you will definitely look the part. This Mac comes in at £30.00 and is an essential statement piece of any wardrobe!

It just goes to show that just because its pouring down doesn't mean to say you have to go out covering up. You can still keep dry and keep on trend!

Midnight Spending

So here I am up at 5am, wondering why I can't sleep, apart from the fact that I went to bed at 8pm the night before, therefore I got in a healthy nine hours sleep by now. I've been dreaming of a pair of jelly sandals for my holiday to Ibiza in two weeks time and it worried me that my precious Primark had none left and I wouldn't be able to purchase a pair at a cheap price and in time.

So, lying in bed at 5pm I go on my laptop and browse my beloved Topshop - as a leaving present my friends at Next got me a gift card - so I felt it burning away in my purse I had to use it. I was checking out the sandals when I found the perfect pair and at a very reasonable price!

JUJU NINA Jelly Sandals are only £24.00 and with my gift card and my trusty student discount and delivery charge, I got the shoes for £15.00!! What a bargain I am absolutely over the moon, it is definitely true when people say they work better at night..

Liebster Nomination

I was very proud to receive an email from Fabiola the owner of Halfway to New York a fashion and lifestyle blog - http://halfwaytonewyork.blogspot.mx, which read that she enjoyed reading my blog and had nominated me for a Liebster award! I am truly grateful and surprised to be nominated as I haven't been blogging for long, but I'm over the moon to know that people have been reading my blog and enjoying my posts.

Rules:
• You must answer all questions that are given to you
• Must link back to the person that nominated you
• Nominate 11 bloggers who have less than 200 followers
• Provide nominees with 11 questions of your choice
• Cannot nominate the person who nominated you
• Must inform nominees of your nomination
• Provide nominees with a link to your post for more info

I have to answer 11 questions asked by Fabi and here are my answers -

A blog you visit daily:

A blog that I visit daily is bubbaandme.com. I visit this blog daily as I actually interviewed Atosa, who the owner of the fashion blog and she was such a lovely lady to meet and interview, therefore I like to read about what she has been up to and what fashion trends she has adopted as she had such an impact on me when I met her due to her style and elegant and polite manner.

Why did you decided to create a blog?

I decided to write a blog to keep me from getting bored over the summer. As a student journalist the newspaper I edit for only runs during term time therefore I don't do a lot of writing when I am not at university, therefore I wanted to create my own fashion and lifestyle blog to keep me writing and staying creative.

Favorite lipstick ever:

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Sourire

If you could own a designer bag, which one would you choose?

Mulberry, anything Mulberry. Although I don't have the money to own my very own at the moment it is my goal in life to have a Mulberry.

The inspiration for your blog comes from:

Myself - which is very difficult. Somedays I don't feel like writing then I worry that I'm not keeping my blog up to date but somedays I could write for hours and post numerous articles.

Do you have a favorite pair of shoes?

My favourite pair of shoes at the moment would have to be my chunky heeled boots from Primark that only cost me £15 and are actually very comfortable to wear too!

What is your favorite part about blogging?

My favourite part about blogging would have to be the feeling I get from hours of writing an article and then finally pressing the publish button. I gain a feeling of success and pride through my writing and other people reading my articles and appreciating my work as it is what I love to do.

A place you would love to visit on vacations would be:

I would love to visit New York as I have never been and of course that it is one of the fashion capitals!

Describe your perfect outfit:

My perfect outfit.. That is such a difficult question.. I'd say that links to the last question of a celebrities wardrobe, I'm a bit like Alexa Chung. On the one hand I love dressing up girlie in high heels and pretty dresses but on the other hand, I love my skinny jeans and t-shirts, therefore my outfit has to match my mood. I could never answer this question!

Favorite T.V. show:

My favourite T.V show at the moment would have to be Dexter!

If you could have a celebrity's wardrobe, who would you pick?

Alexa Chung definitely! She is my fashion idol. I love how Alexa can go from looking pretty and girlie in lace and skirts then look fabulously tom boy in skinny jeans and an over sized t - whatever she wears she always looks good!

My Nominees Are:

My Questions Are:

1) Who is your favourite designer and why?
2) In what way is your blog different from any other blog?
3) How would you describe your individual style?
4) What is your favourite movie?
5) What do you like the most about blogging?
6) Who is your favourite blogger at the moment?
7) If you could be anyone for the day who would it be and why?
8) What is your favourite perfume?
9) Heels or flats and why?
10) What is your favourite magazine?
11) Who is your inspiration for your blog?

Have fun answering my questions guys and have a lovely day xo

The Best Body Butter

So as I was thinking what to write an article on today I looked down and noticed my tan was peeling. I know this probably isn't what you want to hear right now as you settle down to your breakfast, lunch or dinner - depending on where you live in the world, but it happens to the best of us. So this horrible human error got me thinking, what is the best body butter? Which influenced me to compose a scale from one to ten on the best body butter and why, so Im away to rake through my toilet cabinet now to give you my body butter list.

10) I'll start my list of from top to bottom so I can leave you with a delicious treat at number one! So starting with Dove Intensive Nourishment Body Butter For Extra Dry Skin. This hydrating butter contains two major ingredients a nourishing oil and a rich hydrating cream, which promises to moisturise and deliver beautiful results!

9) Number nine on my body butter list is Naked 24 Hour Coco de Mer Body Butter - isn't that a mouthful! This creamy coconut extract smells Godly with all the goodness in a bottle as all the synthetic stuff is left out, promising your skin a real treat at only £5.45!

8) Extracts Body Butter Brazil Nut has been developed to make a difference to your skin. This body butter contains nut oil and this fair-trade shea butter is produced by communities in West Africa, therefore by using that source Exracts support their future.

7) Vaseline Cocoa Butter smells like heaven! This butter contains body oil which replenishes skin and locks in moisture and highlights naturally radiant skin, definitely a keeper this summer at a cheap and cheery price of £3.33!

6) So heading down our body butter list we come to number six, Hawaiian Tropic Coolada Body Butter. Although Hawaiian has a lot of sun products to offer you can use this body butter all year round! With the strong smell of lime colada and a tropical blend of Aloe Vera, Cocoa, Mango and Shea Butter along with Vitamins A, C and E you can keep your beach babe appearance all year round!

5) NipFab Body Butter Mango Smoothie energises and awakens your senses with that rich mango smell. The product promises a 24 hour moisturising ingredient named Aquaxyl which invigorates the skin with the fresh scent of mango. The perfect body butter to wake you up in the morning!

4) Burts Bees Honey Body Butter is number four on my list. This body butter is all natural containing honey and antioxidant-rich sweet Almond Oil with Shea Butter. This body butter is perfect for right after shaving as it nourishes places that need a little more attention. Burts Bees promises that your skin will feel happily hydrated and silky smooth after using this Body Butter, but at the price of £12.99 I would this so too!

3) Palmers Cococa Body Butter comes third in my scale from one to ten of the best body butters around. The body butter is combined with vitamin E and hydrating Urea which transforms the driest skin and also helps improve the appearance of marks and scars, what more could a girl ask for? As well as this, Palmers Cococa Body Butter is only £3.33 from Boots, so there is no reason why you should be looking like a lizard this summer ladies!

2) My second favourite body butter in the whole wide world has to be Body Butter by Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden - which is an award-winning moisture boost which instantly smooths and softens skin. Sanctuary Spa body butter smells amazing as it is made up of Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Macadamia Oil and Vitamin E, which is great for your skin!

1) My favourite body butter of all time has to be Butter Yourself by Soap & Glory. This body butter smells amazing as it includes orange water juice, shea butter and peppermint oil and fruit liquid fig. The butter has an almost mousey texture which is thick to make sure your skin stays smooth and dehydrated. I would recommend this moisturiser to anyone with scaly skin!

An unexpected day in the sun

Today I spent my afternoon at Linlithgow with my brother and mumma. After a lovely lunch at a small cafe we walked around the loch in the sun, which is always unexpected in Scotland but beautiful when it decides to make an appearance.

So today I was wearing black skinny jeans that I got from TK Max one of my favourite shops ever, cause anything that you buy you can bet no one else will have cause they sell like one of each item. My creepers which I adore and went through a phase of not wearing them but they are back on the scene! A cotton swim suit baby blue from New Look and my denim jacket again - cause you can literally team a denim jacket with anything and it goes! Along with my favourite shopper tote bag from River Island which is covered in cats and cost me £1! Bargain! I hope everyone is having a lovely day! xo

Save on your summer spending!

If you're anything like me, clothes and the latest trends are a major part of your life. I cannot stop to visit the shops at least once a week to check out whats new then obviously buy whats new. The tragic tale which explains why I have no money in my bank account. This morning I got my weekly text updating me of my cash balance in my account and it was a good thing I was lying down, as I would've fainted. That encouraged me not only to lock myself in my room until I get paid but to write an article on ways to save your money in the clothes department. So I have selected a few essential items for any wardrobe that are in trend this season showing you how much money you can save!

Rocket Fuel was introduced on the catwalk for the Autumn-Winter collection from numerous designers. From Saint Laurent to Marc Jacobs, models were presented in head to toe sparkles and sequins. Although you may save up for months to buy the same outfit that was highlighted on the catwalk so you can prance about in Marco de Vincenzo, I can present you with styles extremely similar at a much cheaper price.. Topshop offer a Plunge V Sequin Bodycon Dress for £60.00 (that is not including 10% student discount for all you clever cookies out there.) The dress is sleeveless and covered in sequins with a zip fastening. Team this dress with some killer heels and a clutch and you will be hitting the town looking like you should be on the catwalk, without the designer price tag might I just add!

The beautiful Cara Delevingne presented her new collections of bags which she designed for the designer label Mulberry. With contrasting designs Cara's Mulberry bags are the talk of the town and with such a mass following of youngsters you can be sure everyone will want a Cara bag. However, it won't shock you to learn that the Cara bags do not come cheap, with prices starting at £890 and escalating to £2,500 you better get saving fashionistas! However, do not fret as I have scoped the high-street stores for cheap twins of the Cara bags and I have good news for you today! Again, using my favourite high-street store, Topshop offers a wide selection of backpacks similar to Cara's designs from £34.00 not including student discount. Wear it just like Cara girls!

Aloha Floral Backpack, Topshop, £34.00

Shoes, shoes, shoes, what more could a girl want? Except David Beckham of course. Louis Vuitton presented some beautiful shoes named the Rolling Sandal in their Spring Summer collection. Rolling in at £645.00 these shoes might as well have been crafted by angels. However, I have found some very similar sandals for more than half the price! Don't say I'm not good to you ladies. The Tan Jewel Two Part Sandals from Next at only £34 will save you a small fortune in comparison to the Rolling Sandal. Also from a distance these sandals look just as expensive!

Denim Days

Today I'm wearing a very casual and festival like outfit. I've opted for a casual style today as I'm not doing a lot apart from heading to do some food shopping then going to Aqua Fit class tonight with my friend and mum.

So my denim jacket is from Zara and its two years old, I customised it with a few badges as I felt it was very plain. My playsuit is from H&M - I actually bought it when I was in Marbella but that is another story for another time! Again, my favourite shoes at moment are from Primark and were an absolute bargain at £15 - I had to have them!

London Blues

So I have finally got round to writing a new post about my time in London, as I've been so busy with work and starting my new job in Lacoste!

My last day working for Verge Magazine was probably the best day in London as I met fashion blogger Atosa Nikkhah. Atosa has been recognised for her style during London Fashion week and her blog has been featured in worldwide publications such as Vogue, Teen Vogue, ASOS and Cosmopolitan. Therefore, meeting such a successful blogger meant a lot to me and really gave me an insight into my work as a fashion journalist. Not only was Atosa a friendly and easy going young woman she had the most classic style and she carried an air of elegance wherever she went. After interviewing Atosa we wandered aimlessly around Sloane Square finding cute spots to carry out the photo shoot - there will be professional photographs to follow this was just my favourite from my phone. Atosa posed naturally in front of beautiful iron gates, fountains and zebra crossings, wherever she posed she brought a sense of chic to every location. If you are interested in Atosa check out her fashion blog http://www.mybubbaandme.com and her instagram http://instagram.com/atosanikkhah# you will not be disappointed!

Verge Magazine London: Day One

So today was my first day of placement at Verge Magazine in London. Not only that but my first day in London, so basically the best day of my life. I was genuinely the most nervous person in the world this morning before starting placement. However, when I met the lovely Rosalind (my editor) all my worries vanished! After meeting the rest of the interns at the magazine I started on an article for the magazine. My article is about bikinis that suit all different body types an how to find the perfect bikini, you can read my article in Verge Magazine -http://www.vergemagazine.co.uk/girls/2014/07/bikinis-body/

So then myself and my two editors went to a meeting with the head of PR for HTC phones. Was literally the most interesting meeting I've ever been to. Nothing what I expected it to be like, so causal but so interesting. Top secret information that I cannot share, but being a PR seems very fun.

So today was successful in every way. I now know what I want to do in life and what my heart is set on as a career (fashion journalist/PR) Tonight I'm going to china town for dinner and tomorrow is a new day, things are definitely looking up! I hope everyone enjoys their night, I know I will x
